Two couples arrive at a cottage to spend their honeymoons, each believing they have sole occupancy. Whilst they are arguing over who has the right to be there, another couple turn up believing they have booked the cottage. Whilst arguments rage, an unexpected visitor arrives...!

Henry Aspinall is looking for a wife.  To his secretary's dismay, he does not look for one in the conventional way, but decides to put an advertisement in the newspaper.  What follows, is a flow of interesting characters arriving at his door wishing to be selected as his wife.  However, amongst the confusion and the chaos, he finally has one other unexpected visitor, which brings this amusing play to an unexpected conclusion!
